Rowen Baby's First Halloween

Holy man, dressing up a Baby is really fun.  They're just so stinkin' cute... and watching them react to the strange outfit is just another unexpectedly awesome perk!  Initial hesitation turned into delighted giggles very quickly.  I think she loved the attention too.

It was a pretty gloomy chilly day, so we mostly wore our costumes around the house.    Costumes, plural.  Uncle Gram and Grandma Meme got her costumes before she was even born!  We skipped Trick or Treating this year since she'd be too young to know what was happening... plus, it was raining.

We did venture out for a walk in the afternoon dressed as Simba.  It was pretty funny strapping her into the stroller with a big belly.

After her nap, Rowen put on her next costume.

Happy First Halloween Rowen Baby!

I always enjoyed dressing up but I didn't even care that I didn't have a costume this year!  Having a Baby to dress up is like, 800 x more fun.

(Sidenote: I had THE BEST costume idea for Lowell and I for the Halloween party that we were invited to last year when I was pregnant.  Asian Beyonce and white Jay-Z!  But alas Lowell had a gig and I was too lazy to go alone and commit to being solo asian Beyonce, so I stayed home and ate mini-Twix bars in bed)

If Simba still fits next year, Lowell and I will get ourselves some Timon and Pumbaa costumes for trick or treating, You read it here first!

I'm learning to use Pinterest....

I've always been behind the times with these social media gadget type thingies.  It took me years to learn Twitter when it first came about.  Same with Facebook actually.  Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out what kind of use I have for "pinning" things... So far, it's become an elaborate Wishlist of sorts.  I love creating a fantasy wardrobe for the Rowen baby.  I just love dressing her up!

I would like to pose a question to all of you.

I ask you.... is there anything in this Universe that is cuter than my Baby in a tutu?  

Probably not!

Friday was tutu day here.  

Ange's Mama got Rowen a bunch of amazing girly girly outfits after she was born.  I have been anxiously awaiting the day that I could break out this tutu.... and then I accidently waited too long and almost missed my window!  But miss it I did not, and I put a tutu on the Baby yesterday and all freakin' adorable overload broke loose.  Then Baxter joined the festivities and my heart promptly exploded!!

She stood in first position all on her own!  Bahaha!

She tried to eat the skirt and shoulder flowers only a few time.  It was cute.

One day, Rowen may grow up to be a tomboy and be all "awww Mom" when she sees this.  But Rowen Baby, you made my day yesterday!  Hehe, Momma has crates of her old tutus ready for you when and if you're ready!

Ruche contest!

Remember that cupcake onesie from Ruche that I was lusting after for Rowen?  

Well, I entered us in a contest to win a little bit of a Ruche shopping spree!  

As a general rule, I try not to spend money on "silly pretty" things since Rowen grows so fast and we are not super wealthy.  I'm confident that she has not gone without anything that she needs... and between all her amazing Aunties, Uncles and Grandparents, all her "cute" and "silly pretty" things are covered.  So yeah, this is more of a prize for me to get to dress her in things like these:

I wish that I could hit "pause" for just a little while and have Rowen stay small and cuddly...and wear adorable things like this and not outgrow them like, immediately.  

I know, I know, watching her grow is amazing and I can't get enough of her new giggles and this week's newfound interest in her feet... Growing Rowen is FUN... but it's happening too fast.  TOO FAST!!  Can't she stay little for a wee bit longer?  :)

This is a Bacon cupcake from Yummy Stuff in Parkdale.  

They do some seriously YUMMY stuff there!  The Bacon cake made me curious... I was prepared for weirdness, but it was amazing and rocked hard.  The cake was a chocolate oatmeal thing and the frosting had that awesome salty-sweet taste going.  I want another one now and will need to go back soon.  I LOVE CUPCAKES!

Easter Rowen Bunny

We are not religious, but I do believe in adorable Bunny hoodies, baby blue cottontail pants and delicious Cadbury Easter Chocolates!
